    Chaotic Playmats

Post by cromax123456 on Fri Dec 30, 2016 7:57 pm

Hey guys, anyone know where I can get a Chaotic Playmat? I mean non-paper ones just so we're clear. Were official ones ever made? If not, then where will I be able to find good quality custom mades? Thanks in advance for whatever information may pop up. Big Grin

I think you may find something on ebay where you contact them then send what you want ... but I don't know much.

I do find the question really interesting.

There wasn't any official mats that I know of but Inked gaming I know does custom playmats that are pretty nice and I'm sure there's other sites you could find.

There was an official play mat released in 2009. It was the 2009 World Championship Series mat with Rath'tab as the background artwork and then columns for tracking stats and energy. It was given away at regionals and the world championship. They surface every now and then, some cheap and some expensive. They feel like a giant mousepad. I tried looking for a picture on the internet but I was unsuccessful. If you are interested, i'll find mine and upload a picture.

It took a little getting used to with no defined spots on the mat but it works pretty well with practice. and thanks, I love the blanket too! I've had it for soooo many years haha. Some thrift store finds are better than others lol

The only mats released were the Rath'tab mat, a foldable cardboard one similar to a boardgame board, and the paper ones from the starters. If you want a good looking mat with all the extras, i.e. zones, stats, etc..., then custom is really the only way to go. I designed some and got them made a little while back. It is not a very good picture, but here is a pic of the one I took to get signed:

I have them printed by a guy on Etsy. His mats are really high-quality and he charges less than inked gaming and the other playmat sites I have seen. I'll give you his shop's name if you are interested.
