When Ebay Had Good Cards and Prices

Post by Marrillian on Sat Dec 31, 2016 5:17 am

For more nostalgia, I visited the once flourishing Chaotic Ebay market. I remember when Chaotic was alive, how the majority of listings were either Ultras or supers and all the ultras were expensive.
Then as chaotic died, cards were really affordable and I am still mad at myself for not having snatched up more.
Now chaotic ultras are outrageous, and the majority of listings are for lame "collections" or rares and below at prices that ultras were in the previous sentence...

Arg, now that I have money and its not worth spending it on Chaotic... Frown

I have most certainly noticed that too, it's pretty insane how expensive some of these old cards are. I mean, considering Chaotic is a discontinued game, I guess I kinda see why they'd be pricey. But at the same time, it's discontinued! Why are some individual cards listed for over hundreds of dollars? Gahh!

It's simply a question of economic, there's noit much of some cards to sell and they are wanted by much people so if there's someone ready to pay a higher price for them, well they're gonna be sold at a high price.
    It's sad I know ...

I feel the same way. Over Christmas I pulled out a bunch of my old cards and saw some guy on eBay selling a whole bunch for reasonably cheap that I was bidding on, but he later took them off saying he sold it all to one guy... Was really disappointing to see a lot of cards either unavailable or too much, especially some iconic ones like Chaor the Fierc, Iparu Metallic Ally and Maxxor PoP that I never got.

I was looking for retail boxes(12 box sets) for a few sets. Back in the day I bought DoP, SS, Zoth, BtD, RoTH, and AU box sets for reasonable prices. $60 for each box except AU (which cost 100).

I've succeeded to get pretty much every cards and Ultras I wanted since I joined tradecardsonline, it seriously helped for the collection. I recommend it to you.

But yeah, it's kinda weird in fact that he was able to sell all the cards, it's even suspicious for my part.

And yeah, that was one dam epic price for the lot .... DAM Tongue
Like ... way to much a good price ...

The problem with TCO is that I don't have enough duplicates to actually trade for what I'm missing Tongue But I will agree that I've gotten some good trades

Yeah, those prices definitely skewed my appreciation of card value. My only regret is not having enough money to purchase more boxes at the time XD

Send Sballocollection2012 a message with what your looking for, she usually sells ultras/promos for under $5
