Hey Dudes, I can't take it anymore!
Hey guys, first of all, sry for not posting or even coming online for a few months. Second of all, i can't take it anymore. It's been i think a year and half now since the chaotic game shut down and no one is giving a s*it about it. I really love this game but i feel ripped off now. I spent most of my money on buying cards (Which were pretty good) but now I feel like I wasted all my money on those cards for nothing. Can't we all like start a petition or something and give it to whoever owns chaotic now and request them to start it soon. All they have to do is just start paying for the website and all the features on the site will be normal when it turns on, wouldn't it? What do u guys think?

Unfortunately hosting a game like Chaotic is no small task. It requires maintenance, and for someone to be paying for a server. (Which is really expensive even if you own the hardware!)
You really got into the game when it had already kicked the bucket, so investing money into it was your own decision. Just think about the players who had full collections before the price drops. :\

True that, but won't having a petition make the owners realise that we as the players really enjoyed the game and will turn out to be a profit when more players come back realising that the game has resumed again and begin to buy merchandises that they will put out to sell.

If you had a petition with hundreds to thousands of signatures then ya, but the reason the game can't get going again is because of the lack of support from players. Mr. Gannon has tried for *years* to get this game going again, and to my knowledge still hasn't given up on it.
A petition would likely only serve to lower moral unless it went viral. (And making something go viral isn't a plan)

Is there a possibility that they can get this game running if this went viral?

If the game went viral then nothing more would need to be done. The desire is there among the people who need to make it happen so they'd do it.
It's not exactly easy to make anything that popular though, let along an old card-game.

I think part of the problem is that if they try something and it fails, it'll be the final nail in the coffin. They're already struggling as it is with prior lawsuits, and if they were to launch something like a KickStarter or other fundraising method/petitions and it were to not succeed, it would be impossible to find an investor. Now, a KickStarter to host servers would make me pretty happy. Right now, my cards are worthless because there's no way to play. If I could put $20 in to make my collection suddenly worth the investment I put in it'd be great. But if they were to try that and couldn't manage the $XX,ooo or whatever it would cost, it wouldn't bode well for the company. Also, I wouldn't say there is a guarantee that any of the code is stored anywhere that it could be accessed. You say it'd be easy to just relaunch the servers, but if the servers which have been storing all of our login info and card databases and are offline, we might just wind up with a fancy forum like we already have with no Dromes/players. We can't prove much support since they don't have access to numbers of everyone logging on or what is being spent on old product. Investors can't see any ROI without a proper distribution, unless Chaotic took a strictly online approach and sold virtual packs and eliminated the physical play.

Yehh basically what tera said. Right now all we can do is wait and i doubt we have nearly enough people or money to make a win in KickStarter fundraising method. I think they also consider where all the money is coming from? Like if the money was getting raised by only one person, then the chances would be drastically lower in comparison to if there were millions of people donating small amounts?

Re: Hey Dudes, I can't take it anymore!
It's an absurdly odd thought for me, but as a server host myself I'm curious about the specs that would actually be needed to run the game for such a small community as us...
Perhaps I'll see if I can get in contact with someone who would know.

Plok's right, there's a bunch of... legal stuff that will need to be cleared out first. Expiration of Copyrights, Trademarks, and Domain names. Which won't be for a few years. That's all I really know. Some people my age may find that to be above their heads, but that's really it

Honestly, I can't find a way other than just show interest...or Kickstarter. But the second one won't be for a long long time. around 3-4 years.

Re: Hey Dudes, I can't take it anymore!
I don't know if a KickStarter could have been done. I remember something about a Young Justice KickStarter a while back that got into trouble. People didn't want the show cancelled so they offered to fund it via KS and raised a good amount of money. The problem was that they didn't own the Copyright/Trademarks and couldn't follow through. The owners aren't liable to follow through, but if the person who raised the funds doesn't follow through, they're obligated to return the funds and it was just an ugly scenario. Because the lawsuits were based on who properly owned what, launching a KS could have simply made the whole issue even longer as now there is some sum of money on the line to fight over more.

Re: Hey Dudes, I can't take it anymore!
Can't we tell the people who own the site that we will be doing a KS so they will give us legal permission to launch our KS without any copyright issues?

Well I meant if the company which owned the license had done it. The problem is I think until recently 4kids still had it

Re: Hey Dudes, I can't take it anymore!
Im not supposed to say this, and I might get in trouble for it, so I'll keep it vague:
I believe someone actually has the rights to license; however they need and are looking for a licensing partner. As of now, I dont believe the attempts at partners have been successful, but there will be more opportunities coming up.
If the information I have is truthful, progress is actually being made.
