Face facts, nothing short of a miracle is going to bring chaotic back at this point. Chaotic is in a legal limbo and obtaining the codex is next to impossible. You people are going about this whole thing the wrong way and it's kind of a huge mess.

It's time to move on and make a new game to replace Chaotic!

That is of course, unless none of you can, which I really have plenty of reasonable doubts about at this point.

I think you're misguided on why people want to bring back the game. Bringing back the game means someone else goes through the trouble of producing and distributing and designing the game. And they just go around signing petitions lmao

PS
You are one sadistic person, since you always come back to a game that you claim others need to move on from

I don't come back to the game. There's no game to come back to. You're somewhat right though, I'm done with this board. No one ever listens to me about these things anyway.

Actually before I leave for good I do want to clarify one thing. After mulling it over I've figured out what my problem really was: A lack of closure. I tend to get hung up on things when I don't get any.

The way it all ended, from them not warning us of what was happening to Blargers outright lying to us about it, I never wanted it to end but then... It did. I was crushed. I never got over it. I kept hoping there would be some way for it to come back but it never happened and I lashed out at all of you because of it. Also because I didn't want you all to go trough what I did, to not constantly repeat the same mistake of having faith in something hopeless when the writing was plainly on the wall but that got mixed up with my own emotions about the game getting shut down.

But.. Not everyone handles that kind of disappointment in the same way and clearly, none of you went through what I did and probably never will.

I screwed up.

As far as I know the legal issues are finished. The litigants settled out of court. 4Kids lost and isn't even 4Kids anymore. The game was seeing so little traffic they didn't pick it up again.

PS - my source is a you tube video by a fella named LowTier4Life.

Mattwo, your point is obviously a very good one. In the end it would be smarter to just create a new similar game. I mean obviously don't make it dead on with mugic and battlegear and locations. I mean adding stuff in like that would be nice, technically not going against anything as long as it's renamed.

The big things I think would need to be the card layout and maybe board design. The pyramid type would be a bit to similar to chaotic. Also the stats, energy, and elements might be to similar.

All in all this would be an option that made more sense. I mean along with a petition to attempt to get chaotic back, but if we wanted to do that...we are probably years to late, and a dollar to short. Not to say we could not assemble a decent group of people.

Only good option for Chaotic to be revived at this point, is if some big monster company. (Blizzard, Riotgames, just some company) would see the potential, try to get it. I mean what's the use of having the rights of something if you won't even do anything with it.

The truth is what do we want at this point. And official online battle drome? The physical cards to come back? What would even satisfy people at this point? It's been so long, most of us have grown up. Would we even put our time into it if it did come back?

I'm glad you agree with me.

Also Blizzard already has Hearthstone and I shudder to think what Activision might do to it anyway (Plus Shadow Warriors was way too short and generally underwhelming in spite of looking so promising. Sand Grain and Fun Labs should really just stick to Cabela).

I don't think purely virtual card games can be profitable enough without a major brand backing them as pretty much all of them that didn't have a big brand attached to them have fallen by the wayside and I doubt Activision and Riot would be interested in a physical hybrid due to the increased costs and affter the shudown of Skylanders and the general death of collectible toys to life games I doubt companies like Ubisoft and Disney Interactive Studios would be so quick to pick up such a game anytime soon.

When it comes to AAA publishers the only ones I can see who would want to pick it up anytime soon is Nintendo and they'd pull the same artificial scarcity BS they've been pulling lately with it (also another good reason to keep it away from disney in general really)... And frankly AAA publishers all have their faults that really makes me not want trust any of them with something like this. Really it should be kept more independent and self-published like before.

Also Petitions pretty much never work. Ones like the one for the Digimon video games and Operation Rainfall are rare exceptions and their success was entirely dependent on the fact that the publishers did not realize there was a market for the games in the west. The games already existed, they just needed to be localized.

I mean the only way we would be defensive about your statement. Is we all do love and miss Chaotic. I mean no one who didn't would be on this forum.

If a big company could back it, it could come back. But it's an investment that might not be worth the risk. Though if a company could get all the rights, there is a huge character base that could be used. I mean I could only think of what Chaotic could have been at this point.

We could have had Mobas, Shooters, all kind of competitive games using the characters they have.

I mean just imagine the League of Legends or Heroes of the Storm using Chaotic characters.

Can't think of the game type, but even like a Overwatch using Chaotic based characters?

Battle Royal? Chaotic characterwise?

Just an MMORPG of Chaotic?

Then simply just the card game.

Oh, what could have been, but instead we got Shadow Warriors, a 4kids lawsuit, and a handful of false hope and lies. If the right company grabbed hold of this, you could plant an Apple Orchid from this little seed.

I mean I'd love to use Digimon as an example of something that was still able to bounce back a bit, or you even have Monster Hunter, two things that never got the popularity in a country like the USA. But they were able to make impacts just recently in the last couple of years.

But I don't think Capcom or Bandai-Namco would plop on a risk like Chaotic. Though I could actually see Bandai-Namco making a half *** decent game out of it, just based off of Dragon Ball Z Xenoverse and Digimon Masters Online.

Always will be a good card game, and universe. I'm just glad I was able to dip my feet into it.

I can't really call Digimon Masters "decent" to be honest. They ruined the Digimon collecting aspect with a monetary black hole. Also as I said, it was only the result of a petition for the localization of already existing games that Digimon bounced back over here.

I think at this point if anyone was going to bring Chaotic back if they could even obtain the rights, it'd be Hasbro, just like how they pulled Power Rangers from the brink (I mean really, no one else would even bat an eye at Power Rangers these days, Disney's higher ups never actually cared about the franchise and Haim Saban was running it into the ground with dumb executive decisions but investors wouldn't know those things were his idea because he controlled that information and apparently Ninja Steel's cast and crew were quick to point fingers at him after Hasbro got the rights this past Power Morphicon, I missed that panel so I wouldn't know for sure but it's on the PMC YouTube channel but I would not be surprised, that man makes enemies pretty easily it seems, just ask Ron Wasserman) but the question would then be of who would handle the digital side of things? Far as I am aware, the only good Hasbro-licensed video games in recent history were published by Activision (War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron). Hasbro Interactive has been dead ever since Hasbro got their video game rights back from Atari in 2005 after selling them to Infogrames in 2001.

Besides, Hasbro in recent years has been proving to be the Disney/Nintendo of toys. Just with less of the anti-consumer bsery.

Then again, Duel Masters/Kaijudo flopped so they might be hesitant to pick up another children's trading card game and WotC has been under heat recently after a smaller-scale version of gamergate occurred regarding professional level MTG players. The less said about that the better though.

Well for lawsuit part it's been YEARS since then, it's plainly self-evident, especially considering that the fact that 4kids dissolved is very old news and I'd be seriously surprised if anyone on these forums couldn't have figured out that either 4kids lost the Chaotic lawsuit or the rights to Chaotic back to TCDigital as a result.

Admittedly I missed the part about why they didn't pick it up again but I doubt this LowTier4Life could have had any real way of knowing that for sure (and I seem to recall him refusing to cite any reliable sources) when that entire video was nothing but the entire history of Chaotic which is easy enough for anyone who played it until it shut down then stuck around these forums to know. All of the earlier stuff was just stretching out the video for extra ad revenue too.

Easy research plus clickbait title equals easy money. It really grinds my gears.

Also, he already posted that video here on these very forums... So umm...

I didn't realize he posted it on the forums.  How nice of him since he isn't a player like the rest of us (He looked like he had pokemon in the bgd).  Sorry man, I just don't read every post in here.  Guess I am just not into the forums like I am the game. Blush

Well that wasn't even my main issue with what you said to begin with and I figured you hadn't noticed, hence why it was more of a footnote.

I prefer Billiam over LT4L and Negative Legend because his video titles say "x was weird" instead of "why x shut down/was cancelled/ect" or "What happened to x"  because he does deliver on the video title unlike those two though frankly "the complete history of x" fits best for those kinds of videos.

nerdSlayer's The Death of a Game also usually features a complete history but outside of City of Heroes he also usually delivers on the title of the video but like I said, it really should be a "complete history" series instead.

Of course they'd probably replace it with something different, or rebrand it or something. But that's not really the point-either way, it would still be "Chaotic", under a different name. And even if it wasn't, that's fine.
You're honestly being extremely rude to people just remembering and wanting an old game back. Stop.
