Hast the anime catchest up? Hehe so far I like the mermaid arc the best in the new world. But none of the new world acts have disappointed!!!

Well not catch up as in catch up all the way. Just it got up to the Dressrosa arc.

They're embarking toward Dressrosa, but right now there's a filler between transit.

One Piece fillers are usually pretty good though. I'm gonna watch this one eventually...

Yea, One Piece has had some excellent fillers (from back when I watched).

I think the fact that the author of one piece opened up the entire world that they're in from the start was a good idea- that way, the strawhats getting sidetracked isn't something that flies in from out of nowhere; with Luffy's personality, it's entirely possible.

Well the majority of the adventures are "sidetracking" anyway lol. That is what adds to the show. The problem I personally have with the concept of fillers is that the events that happened (in most cases) don't effect the story  Its like if I were to make an awesome program and be told that its useless after being used (well not to that extent, since you can always watch the fillers again lol).

Actually, some fillers are actually alluded to in the One Piece manga.

The arc with the weird boat race where someone used a time-slow-y devil fruit to cheat in the race against the stawhats was alluded to when Luffy met Boa Hancock for the first time- Boa tried to use her fruit's power to turn anyone infatuated with her into stone; since Luffy didn't care about her one way or the other, he wasn't affected but since he thought her activation phrase sounded like the time manipulation fruit, he started acting like he got time warped.

I don't remember anything else, I'm just trying to keep up with the weekly releases.
