Gone chaotic

So I'd been talking about doing this on occasion but I decided to buckle down this month and crank out this set called "Gone chaotic". For those who are familer its based off the Mtg "unsets" which feature weird Nonlegal cards for casual use. This is a simaler deal, the main rule with each of these cards is they have to do something I probably couldn't do on a "real" chaotic card. For the most part these cards only work in person (you'll get why when you read them) so if you got a chaotic buddy I hope you give them a try. quick note again I made these with a bit of rush so forgive the sloppniess I'm sure they'll be typos and such I do try my best but... Anyway Happy April fools and enjoy.

These are all brilliantly witty, I love all the wacky mechanics and silly flavour text and other jokes. I myself had wondered about the possiblity of doing a "joke" Chaotic set in the same vein as a Magic Un-set and these just prove that yes it is possible. Great, funny stuff!

I actually went and saved all the cards with the intention of printing them out (even printing the rares on foil paper) (not really much point adding these to my Lackey plugin because these only work when playing in person) and having a little fun with them, I did double check this but I noticed you've only posted 99 cards, not 100. Now I'm wondering if that was a genuine mistake or if that was actually a deliberate joke (I wouldn't be surprised given the nature of the set )

well crap wish someone would have called it out sooner what a shame...

that would be user error there were 100 cards made at one point but unfortunately only 99 go uploaded

as for printing the cards I'm shocked lol there all so mistake riddled I'd offer to edit them to be better for you buuut...

all my original files of these cards and the cards from my normal set got lost in some computer troubles so I can't actually edit them cleanly (and I can't upload the last card) I'll try to remake it thought but redoing the entire set is something I don't think is possible so this is how they'll have to stay saddly. anyway I'm glad you like them and I'll work on remaking that last card

Eh, I'm just printing them out because I've got a fair chunk of specialist paper I bought for another project then it turned out I didn't need it, so I thought instead of letting it go to waste because it's not cheap stuff, I'd print some Chaotic cards onto it, like the online-only league rewards stuff, your other fan set and this wacky set. I've got Photoshop and I can go grab the templates so I can probably fix the typos and stuff up no probs. The Mugic might be tricky though because of the full art, but they don't appear to have any typos so those should be okay.

I might add these to my Lackey plugin anyway, even though they only work irl it'd be quite fun to be able to "open" packs of these wacky cards using its card pool function

it is a bit of a bummer many of them don't work online I had a tough decision with that since almost all of chaotic is played online but I found it made a better set to not let that limit me so here we are.

Of course I'll show pics when I get them done, at the moment I'm re-doing the cards and have just finished the Mipedians, just fixing errors and rewording some sentences so that they read a bit better. I will admit I've been having a bit of fun with them too, a couple of the cards have now got flavour text mostly because I thought of something funny and it was too much of a golden opportunity to pass up. For example:

Target:
It's important to stay on target when you target a target with a target in order to stay on target or you will be a target for target target to target you.

Vigix:
When the Conjurors realised there was a more obvious way to stabilize their Warbeasts, they literally facepalmed themselves.

There'll probably be more but I don't want to spoil it all at the moment! I make a lot of custom TCG cards including custom Magic and Chaotic cards (I should finish my Chaotic themed Magic set at some point really) and I admit writing flavour text is probably my favourite part of making a card

I may still redo the Mugic, I probably have some (maybe even all, I have tons of fractal art saved on my computer) of the art you used on my own computer that I use for Mugic cards. Just a shame that fractal art is among the hardest to effectively reverse Google search and I can't just do what I've been doing for the other cards and plugging your original cards into the Photoshop templates and using clipping masks. But I'll see what I can do.

yeah its not so much that there isn't good flavor text for those guys as that its kinda hard to fit on the card...  especially with target I wanted all the space to be filled with rules text haha. but if you wanna jiggle the font size and line spacing a bit you could easily fit some on the cards that don't have any. If you like any for the ones I didn't do I still rememeber some like I had orginally planned on doing flavor text on the BG but I decided that since they stopped doing that maybe I better not. in hindsight since it was a comedy set maybe I should have gone through with it but live and learn.

I'm quite a proficient Photoshop user so jiggling around the font wasn't a big problem. With my actual Chaotic-style cards (which I was using Publisher to design, long before the Photoshop templates came out) I would even add flavour text to Attacks where there was space to do so. Probably won't do that here but I've definitely been adding some of my own texts to the Battlegear (curiously the Battlegear template was missing a quote section but I added my own). Here's a couple I did yesterday (fingers crossed this works):

Is it bad that I'm still not sure the Magmon flavour text on the Flux Bauble is in character? (though it's a joke set so it's probably okay). If you want to suggest some flavour text for the other battlegears, then suggest away and I can add those in. I'm still to re-render most of the commons anyway (non-Mugic rares are done for now).

I probably will redo the Mugic just so they read in the same way as the other cards, but there is a possibility the art may be slightly different especially if I can't find the original art you used (for example if it got taken down between you finding it and now).

the reason I left it off the template is like I said chaotic BG doesn't have flavor text anymore so I made it like the attack template I could always change it though.

flux bauble:There ALL the lava pond!
Glue armor: the Overworld dry cleaners went out of business a week after its invention
Kaz's stick: Dumb luck goes a long way
nothing: "(really long blank space)"
thinking caps: its all fun and games till you have to bend over
cannon of casualty: even before the fuse is even lit, both allies and foes scramble for cover
Yokkis' sceptar: shockingly yokkis managed to find the cothcia in (yokkis spooker image jumps over covering the rest)
teddy bear: push his nose and he tells you to crush the other tribes
shimmark shake: now with 50% more protein! (and then it wouldn't be in the art obviously)
double whammy: the only weapon Borth-Majar both fear
pain train: as the train barreled towards bodal, he decided to skip the calculations and just step off the tracks
cursed dice: I didn't have any planned for this one because of how much space it took up lol

so yeah not all winners but if you wanna use any be my guest

I like what your doing so far though so keep it up and don't sweat the mugic art too much if you wanna change it to something that still fits that should be fine

edit: would you mind changing "brb" in the flavor text of chaos nexus to "mrb", its a less obvious typo but it still is one

we already had this converstion but I'll reiterate real quick. I think I prefer mine, and if you did want to power him up I think it would have been better to change the base energy not the scaling number.

So about that Hyper DBZ Maxxor, my opponent can sacrifice it? And that effect doesn't last till end of turn. So basically running him is a 1 turn energy boost...

yeah he's got a mugic counter too which is something I guess, but he's basiclly OW tiaane that doesn't let you pick xD
