I bought the 2009 scanner tin and pulled a Heptadd from it but he only has the fire and earth elements. Isn't he supposed to have all 4? Is this some kind of mistake?

Hmm...Stats seem right, so I guess Water and Air just didn't print for some reason.

Do you think I could still use it as if he had all elements since that's how he's supposed to be?

That Heptadd is real, there have many many accounts of Heptadd misprints with only fire and earth and you can still use it as if it has all 4 elements. Also that is really good luck you have there

There were plenty of print errors with the first set of cards, text being mis-colored or unaligned. I think there were also cases of certain creatures having weird stats, like I believe Dractyl had plenty of misprints. I'm not quite sure how they printed them, but it was poorly done undone Silent Sands as I think there were errors with Zenith of the Hive, but I didn't buy too many of those to know.

Thanks cromax, I've been trying to find a Heptadd to buy online but they're hard to find, which is why i was so happy when I pulled one from the scanner tin. But yeah I was just wondering if there was some kind of error or if that's deliberate but thanks for clearing it up. I'm just going to use him as if he has all 4 elements then.

Yeah in the holiday tins, with the really rare chance of pulling Heptadd, those pulled would only have those two elements. Multiple confirmations.

I remember when that started getting reported. I was so jealous whenever I saw a thread opened for it. I'm still kinda jelly... >_>

Brainard, why get jealous over that? Are they considered to be more rare than normal Heptadds?

They're actually more common than a regular Heptadd since normal Heptadd's are a starter exclusive card. Typically misprints are valuable because they're so uncommon, but in this case that isn't true. Doesn't stop people from having the mentality though.
And to reconfirm - every single Heptadd from a tin will be like this. They can / should be played with as if they have all elements, and their stats are entirely normal.

I was very ignorant when it came to card distribution. I didn't understand what Blitser explained. Admittedly, I wasn't aware of it until just now.

Oh cool. I bought a Heptadd off someone and I thought I got ripped off but turns out it's common. Thanks everyone
