It's possible that the parasites can't be transported very far, or that abusing them would unite the other tribes against them.

Mugic can kill parasites, you know.
I personally headcanon that the Parasites, after a while, don't change your mind-yeah, you hear the Call of the Hive, but I personally always thought there was some sort of brainwashing involved to complete the process-hence why you can't uninfect assimilated Creatures, and also why they don't have a Parasite Token.
So yeah, I feel there's some sort of secondary process involved.
